About "Hello, DOLLY!"

Hello, Dolly! is a musical filled with charisma and with heart. Matchmaker Dolly Levi is a widow, a matchmaker, and also a professional meddler - but everything changes when she decides that the next match she needs to make is to find someone for herself. Set in Yonkers and New York City, at the end of the 19th century, Hello, Dolly! is boisterous and charming from start to finish. Hello, Dolly! features such memorable songs as "Before the Parade Passes By", "It Only Takes a Moment", "Put on Your Sunday Clothes", and of course, the title number, "Hello, Dolly!". Dolly herself is one of the strongest and richest starring roles for a woman ever written for the musical theater, and famous Dolly Levis have included Carol Channing, Ethel Merman, Pearl Bailey, Mary Martin, Barbara Streisand, and most recently, Bette Midler and Bernadette Peters.

Hello, Dolly! is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals.

Audition Information

(Last updated 12/11/2025 - updated new rescheduled tryouts date)

You need to attend only one of the audition days. Plan to stay for the whole 2 hours of the audition's time. We will have time for singing, monologues and sides, and we will also have some simple and fun dancing steps with the show's choreographer.

All you have to do is:

1. Fill the audition form to let us know when you're coming. You will receive an email message a few days before the tryouts. You can also fill the form the day you come for the tryouts.

2. If you wish to be part of the on-stage performers/cast, select the song and script you wish to try out at the auditions (You do not need to memorize anything as handouts will be provided).

3. Show up on time on the day of the tryouts for some great fun. We meet at the band/choir room (use side entrance of the Phillips High School - there will be a sign for new comers).

4. Most importantly - have FUN with Northwoods Players!
